Classes Offered

Ellicott High School Music Department has performance opportunities for students in grades 9-12. The classes listed below are for students who are passionate about being involved in music. 
 

 

Concert Choir

This choir is open to all students who love to sing and perform. Students focus on singing a variety of choral literature, vocal technique, and music theory. Students are required to participate in daily rehearsals, evening concerts, graduation, and performance trips. Students also have the opportunity to audition for honor choirs.

 

Musical Theatre

Participation in this group is by audition/instructor approval only. Students focus on singing in a theatre production directed by the theatre staff. Students are required to participate in rehearsals after school and performances. 

Concert Band

This class is open to all students who love to play in instrumental ensembles and perform. Students focus on playing a variety of band literature, instrumental technique, and music theory. Students are required to participate in daily rehearsals, Marching Band events, evening concerts, graduation, and performance trips. Students may also have the opportunity to audition for honor bands.

Participation in this class is based on prior experience and instructor approval. If you were involved in the Ellicott Band program last year, you may sign up without approval. If you are new to the Ellicott music program this year or are returning after having taken some time off, please speak with Mr. Baird about placement.
